TBT and Day 10

A real oldie.... my dad and us kiddos. Gotta love those 80's glasses =)

There's this magical thing about raising kids of your own. It helps bring you perspective. You know, that maybe we are all still children on the inside. It's funny, when you're growing up you are doing everything that you can do to try to separate yourself from the younger version of you. Then as you get older you go through phases trying to uncover that younger version again. Trying to find out who you are really, what makes you tick. While I value the journey of finding your identity, I think there's something to be said about having children around you to help appreciate the little things again. It's one of the reasons I have kept this blog going. I think we all need to rediscover those hidden treasures that are in every corner. Don't let your senses fool you...living in this world with wild curiosity is our deep purpose.

Today's photo challenge: Hands
Love him...even if he did give me a hard time taking this picture :)

Day 9

Holla Hump Day!

(I've always wanted to say that)

This week has had a lot of ups and downs already. It's been busy and we just have a few more days until the weekend. Totally counting 'em down...

Tonight I wanted to break out of the daily grind wind down and got the kids gathered up for a little game before bed.

Trouble.

We turned off the TV, put down our own little distractions to have some good old fashioned family fun. So worth it. If these pictures could talk (or if I had been quick enough to get video)...

The giggles...

Sometimes it's worth it, kicking yourself out of routine and just focusing on what is important...togetherness.

Subject of our photo today: Pink

Word to the camel~

"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained."

Day 7

What you saw today.
I saw our son going door to door today, with the irresistible smile and courteous sales-pitch. He has grown so much right before my eyes, and today even when we didn't get as many "yes's" and answered knocks, he still didn't give up. He kept going forward, with a smile and warm heart saying "they may just not be a fan of popcorn." Little do you know, Caleb, you gave your Mama a little glimpse into the young man you're becoming....and he's wonderful.

What we saw Thursday night...

Our little soccer player is at it again...

Keep enjoying the weekend, y'all! And thank you everyone for supporting Caleb and his popcorn sales! He really appreciates each and every one of you =)

Day 6

My view after work this evening...
