Photo challenge Day 19: a good day

Tuesday was a good day...what we know about Tuesdays is that they are well known as one of our busiest days of the week-we are on the go. But when we go to all of the after school activities together, as a family, it's much more fun.

Gymnastics...

Soccer...

We had a rousing game of parents vs kids again with Caleb's soccer team. It was a lot of fun! Then I found out the hard way that a) I am old and b) my old ankle injuries from years of playing soccer can resurface...a new ankle sprain has me tip toeing like the old days. It's all good...with plenty of R.I.C.E.-ing I'll be kicking more soccer balls soon.

Day 18

Still.

This may be cheating, using a previous taken photo, but I just loved this "still" from our hike this weekend. Nature is great like that...giving you the chance to focus only on your breath, and silence your thoughts.

the patch

Today we ventured out to the patch. To carefully select our pumpkins...

It's fun to get out and see all the Fall around us.

These two are counting down the days till Halloween. Hmm, wonder what they'll be this year??
Stay tuned...

Photo challenge Day 17: first world problems

And in case you hadn't heard, one of my blog posts was recently published on Blogher.com. You can read it here: Mommy Rodeo

Happy Fall Y'all!!

our mountain hike

Nature speaks to us.

"Come out. Come play."

Forget not...

that the earth delights...

to feel your bare feet...

and the winds long...

to play with your hair.

We must do our best to listen.

When nature hints that we need to pay closer attention.

She will grant us the silence and solitude that we seek.

The balance our life needs.

Next time she calls, make sure you run to her.

Day 15

Secret.

My back tattoo. A piece of personal expression that I love, and many people may not know about me. But my secret...I cannot wait til I can get more of these... I'm a hidden tatto freak. If I could get away with tatto sleeves on each arm and a nose ring I'd be in heaven.

lazy Thursday thoughts

With Halloween quickly approaching, it's fun to look back and see the kids' costumes in the early years. This is Caleb as a frog in 2005 and Katelynn as a duck in 2008.

Day 14 photo of the day: favorite space
There's this space upstairs that I love. It's not much space really, but it has childhood all over it. The little's masterpieces hang on one side, and their books are on a low bookshelf on the other. Someday I'd like to load this place with comfy pillows and blankets so the natural light coming in encourages lazy afternoon reading.

Day 13

Watching.

After a long 3 days and 39 hours at work, finally putting up my feet and catching up on shows. Ah, Modern Family =)

Day 12

Below.

So hard to find something creative today. Work took it all out of me. So I guess I'll go with this: below me are a pair of feet that helped me walk what felt like a thousand miles today. And I'm still kickin' ready for another go at it tomorrow.

G'night all!

Petit Le Mans and Day 11

First of all, for any of those who are counting, I'm a little behind in my photo challenge. I think this happens every year. My ambitions are always made complicated by you know, life in general.

But I promise I'll make up for it...like in the photo invasion to follow.

Saturday we made it out to our 2nd Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

their faces crack me up

Mark and I continue to be amazed by these two troopers. We spent 12 hours at the track, and hiked all over the hills, through the off/on rain, with loud cars whizzing by and they had smiles on their faces through the end.

Photo of the day: M is for...

The girls...

Had to cheer on Patrick Dempsey too, you know =)

One of my favorites...

And another...
even if they did get all kinds of dirt on themselves, but hey when in Rome ;-)

The boys...

Nothing like a beautiful sunset at the track.

There's just something about the track at night. It speaks to you. All those hours, all that hard work. Boiling down to the last laps. Anything goes, and every one holds their breath. Waiting.

Sometimes it all comes down to the pits.

We're very proud of team SRT Viper, they finished 5th and 7th. And of course, it goes without saying, we're very proud of Jess too...living out her dream. It was a great day, and an even better night, tucking these kiddos into bed. A lot of memories were made, for all of us.
