...it's a wrap

Day 31: treat
I'm closing out this photo challenge with a some warm apple cider and an episode of Modern Family. It's been real, folks!
Night all!

BINGO

Tonight the kids' school hosted a family BINGO night. It was a lot of fun, and while we may not have won any prizes, we were winners in the family time category. That's always reason to celebrate.

Day 30: Wet
I've really been into the fall crafting lately. Seriously. New project: gooo-ing all these colorful leaves from outside and making a leaf garland. I'll post finished product pic when it's all said and done. Yer welcome.

Tomorrow deserves a "Happy Friday y'all!"

Day 29

Hair.

A girly post, but hey I'm almost done...

Really lovin' and diggin' this new ribbon hair tie trend. Simple and comfortable...please pardon the post 12 hour work day crazy hair :-)
Night y'all!

Day 28

Just for you.

Had a few moments to myself today, went to a few shops downtown. I found this by local artist Capman (Caleb's soccer coach), and it describes me in a lot of ways...

Day 27

Peaceful.

As I am closing on one challenge, new doors are opening. My next challenge, which I hope will be a source of peace for me, helping me hold up a spiritual magnifying glass and ask myself important questions. Today's question: who am I?

cabin birthday weekend

What a weekend. Visiting the land of wooden fences, winding roads, golden leaves, and crackling fires.

Enter cabin weekend. Mosey in and stay a while...

We celebrated these birthday buds...

Surrounded by this serene beauty...

We also celebrated togetherness…and making memories.

And then there was the cabin...

Carrying its own presence…it spoke in warm welcoming tones…

not giving up on my photo challenge: Day 26 Depth of Field

Fabulous views…reminding us that we must own one of these someday ;-)

These two were all smiles this weekend =)

Dear Mark,
I'm sorry I didn't get you a Hallmark card this year. Or a knock-off Hallmark card at that. How can I possibly find one that eloquently describes the man I love. The man who loves me without question, even when I may drive him half-way to crazy. The man who our kids depend on for not only their silly gene, but their 4th grade math homework. How do I tell you about the way I love to see the excitement in your eyes, even if I may look annoyed, when you talk about K-State football (and UGA now). The way I've been a front row witness to your growing confidence, seeing you light up when you solve a difficult calculus problem. How can I describe the way you make me feel proud and happy and over the moon excited every single day that I get to be with you. Where's that card? What can I say… there's nothing that I can write here or there that will be able to capture the love that I have for you. The love that grows in every moment that I spend with you. Happy Birthday baby. I Love You.

Goodnight y'all!

end of week thoughts

Where have I been lately?

Well, it seems like the everyday life balancing act always leaves me a little breathless. Somehow, despite my efforts to make it a little easier, more effortless it backfires and I'm left searching for new solutions.

Maybe that's on purpose. Maybe we need to reevaluate how we handle our own balancing act. We work, we stay, we play. Keep perfecting the art. Because once we get comfortable, the act gets out from under us. Embrace that sway, that tipping point. It's there for a reason. Adjust, learn. Fine tune and then fine tune it again.

This week I've been trying to balance. And I've been terrible at it. Instead of embracing the tip, I did a total freak out and everything ended up all over the floor. I want to remember this about myself. Don't do a total freak out, Aimee. Embrace the tip and cue lean in other direction.

Photo challenge: Day 25 Welcome.

I want to welcome this weekend. Getting close to nature, quality family time, celebrating loved one's birthdays, and making memories. Hello weekend. We're going to be great friends.

And just to share my little mantra for the week. Be brave baby.
(Caution: brave dancing to follow…may cause one to break out of their bubble and bust a move. Embrace it :)

Day 24

Dark.

Has the author of this blog gone MIA or what? Promise I'm coming back with a bang.

Lately, with it getting darker earlier, we've been trying to catch glimpses of all the beautiful sunsets.

Day 23

Your mood today.

A lot of contemplating and writing, paired with resolve to get the laundry caught up and house cleaned on my one day off before I go back at it tomorrow. I wrote a blog post on feeling defeat and now can clean with a clear head. Happy Monday all, here's to a great week!

Day 22

Change.

I could post about the time change...getting darker earlier, days seeming shorter. But that's so eh, focusing on the negatives. Instead I will focus on the positives...like the beauty around us with the changing of the leaves. I love this time of year when the trees give us cues of what is to come. I also love that in less than a week we will be surrounded by the beautiful treehood in the mountains.

Happy fall y'all! And I promise longer post tomorrow.

Day 21

Then + now

The boys.
The girls.

It's amazing what time will do...
Making these sweet children grow in the blink of an eye.

Good night lovelies :-)

Day 20

Open.

Nothing like a brand new month, open to all possibilities. We are looking forward to filling up November with quality family time, a mountain cabin trip, birthday celebrations, Gammy's Burnt Caramel Cake, a visitor from Austin, and getting cozy for the cold months to follow...

What we've been up to lately...

We made new frightening friends...

Photo challenge Day 19: a good day

Tuesday was a good day...what we know about Tuesdays is that they are well known as one of our busiest days of the week-we are on the go. But when we go to all of the after school activities together, as a family, it's much more fun.

Gymnastics...

Soccer...

We had a rousing game of parents vs kids again with Caleb's soccer team. It was a lot of fun! Then I found out the hard way that a) I am old and b) my old ankle injuries from years of playing soccer can resurface...a new ankle sprain has me tip toeing like the old days. It's all good...with plenty of R.I.C.E.-ing I'll be kicking more soccer balls soon.
