challenge: Day 22

Hands.

Today we had one of those trips. You know the kind where despite the little girl who had motion sickness during the first 30 minutes of the drive, and then later on a hike down several steps meant getting mud and sand in everyone's shoes...despite that and so much more, it was perfect. Because that's how it really is folks. Especially with kids. Everything is not going to be perfect. But in a way, when you look back on it, it all really was just that. Perfect.

We ventured out in the northeast Georgia mountains, and crossed into North Carolina's southwest mountains to see what fall was all about.

And what we saw. Well, I'll let the pictures do the talkin'.

We loved the sharp turns and bends off the side of the mountains. They always keep you guessing on what is coming next.

Like waterfalls that beckon to be hiked.

And what's more magical than standing behind one of nature's waterfalls?

And I'll leave you with another gem...

Quote of the day:
"The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."
-Mitch Albom
