Every year this time I get a little emotional. It's not the heat index. It's not the trial and error of finding that perfect swimsuit. It's not even the countless bottles of water that one must gulp down just to stay hydrated.
It's the smell of cooking on the grill.
It's the sound of sharp cracking firecrackers and cheering.
It's the sight of bright and shimmering sparklers, and fireworks.
It's the vivid memories of family time, togetherness-all spent outside.
It's the celebration of a nation that I am so proud of.
So proud that no words I can type at 10:45 in the evening will be able to paint the picture of pride.
Instead, I'll leave it to the camera and its pictures.
We just want to remember all of the sacrifice that went into forming and shaping the country that we live in today. Thank you to all those past and present that sacrificed and continue to do so for our freedom. We will never forget and will always hold that flag high.
Happy Birthday America.

Great family fun I would have to say! We didn't get to do all that much but it was still a blessed time with the family. Come see us sometime on the blog
