racin'

Anyone who has ever been in scouts knows the importance placed on Pinewood Derby race season. It's intense and can get very competitive. Boys and their dads (and moms) will spend countless hours whittling away on that block of wood. Sawing, sanding. Carefully painting with meticulously chosen colors. Then ask that carefully calculated question: to add weight, or not add weight? Then after all those steps, placing the handcrafted car onto a scale for that moment, wondering if you'll have to make last minute adjustments.

Then the much anticipated moment of all...let's race.
Caleb's very own design: green car "#3"

We may be friends, but once the car's on the track, we're competitors. Fight for the finish.

Intense stuff, I'm telling you!

Victory is sweet (literally, we celebrated with ice cream)!! Caleb won first place in his den and will go to the finals next month. He broke a record with a speedy 2.5699 seconds! We couldn't be more proud of him :)

 Race fans...are you ready?!

Have a lovely week!
