~we take our breaths
~inhale, exhale
~pause. repeat.
~"life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"
Today my breath was taken away by not only the two mile hike up the elevations in the north Georgia mountains, but the beauty that greeted us.
We took our time, breathing it all in.
That's right kids. Keep climbing. Keep breathing. Keep living. We are so fortunate for all that we do.
And finally...I have found a new purpose for this blog. Perhaps I was always working toward this. I will be paying tribute to the little things. I saw this quote the other day, and it inspired me. So, my inspiration is your new reading material. Enjoy.
The Dalai Lama on what surprises him most: “Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die,
then he dies having never really lived."

Our Saturday family adventure day landed us in the DeSoto Falls hiking trails, a nook in the heart of the mountains. The Chattahoochee National Forest.
We took our time, breathing it all in.
I am still in awe how nature inspires us. Taking ourselves out of the business of everyday life is a must. It helps us gain perspective.
And to enjoy a cookie or two.
And, of course, each other.
