"off"

Today brought clarity.

Working this week took a lot out of me. So it was nice to have a day to wind down. Breathe. Balance. You know, the usual.

We went to the library. Because for me, nothing brings balance like shelves and shelves of wonderful books. Lucky for me I have a family that likes books too. And the thoughtful little toys they have in the children's section.

Today getting back to basics brought curious fingers flipping through photography books. Oh, how I want to learn everything there is to know about this art.

And yes, auto is cheating. So there will be none of that. 

After quiet rows of thumbed-through pages, we landed back at our home base. Where pirates and chewbacca planned a brave crusade.

He's a sly one, that Jack Sparrow. 

I am glad to have days like this. I don't rush through them. I drink them up, to the very last drop. If there's nothing more I'm finding about my new profession, it's that everyday is hard work. Don't get me wrong, it's very gratifying as well. Just a lot goes into those 12 hours. 

I just have to keep telling myself, keep learning, keep trying. It will come. I know it will. The getting there is a journey. And journeys take time.
