I'm tempted to make one of those "let the pictures tell the story" posts. I mean, there's a lot of pictures. But I guess since I'm split between 'lazy blogger' and 'ambitious blogger' I'll do my best to entertain both sides.
This weekend Dad and Jess came down for what we called a "birthday weekend." Mark's birthday was on the 9th, and Jess' on the 10th. So what do we do for fun 'round here?
We head north to the mountains, and we hike.
These pictures still make me nervous. Over that railing, this cliff that we're on. Yeah...it's a looonngg way down.
I love the fact that this sign maybe required a 3 second glance from us...then down we go!
We walked across this bridge near the bottom. It was quite a scene watching the water relentlessly being tossed around the rocky bed below our feet.
Part of the fearless team. You know, the kind that jump up and down and swing on bridges like these.
Check out an incredible story about a fearless feat attempted at the Gorge here.
Of course nature showed all of her beautiful sides to us. And we slowed down and took it all in.
We loved all of fall's beautiful colors.
We want to wish Dad a happy week, fulfilling a dream of his. Decking himself in black boots, a leather jacket and riding a motorcycle :)
Now, for a weekly phone dump:

"The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware."
-Henry Miller

Scouting out the scene...and admiring all of the elevation we're about to conquer.
